John Copper (2nd) left with the rest of the Copper Family. A wonderful group of people absolutely dedicated to the preservation of traditional song. When I was with Thyme we had the privelage of being asked to play at their club in Peacehaven. tm

I'm looking at an aged publicity handout for Keith which says he "was a folk singer, copying the styles of Joan Baez and Paul Simon. That was until he heard Cream and Hendrix". I cannot get my mind round the notion of Keith copying Joan Baez - a frightening prospect.

Keith Christmas at the Beverley Folk Festival June 2007 singing  Good for Me

Keith, very sensibly, is a good Essex boy from Wivenhoe. He played drums with a number of local groups (what have become known as bands now. Ed) but eventually channelled all his energies into playing guitar and writing songs. He was schooled in Colchester and got an engineering degree at Bath University. Now teaching in Bristol I do believe.

"Leyton School epitomised the early 70's to me - it was free-spirited, kids had the power to put on events like that, there was such a beautiful atmosphere of liberation and fun in the air - maybe it was just too good to survive?"
Keith.
